Cline Monument

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions...

What information do I need in order to design my monument?
In order to complete the design process we need to know names (first, middle, last, maiden, nicknames), birthdates, death dates, wedding dates, favorite quotes or anything else that you would like to be included on the monument.

How long does it take to complete a memorial?
We expect to deliver your completed headstone (if using inventory stock) within 12-16 weeks after you have approved your artwork. Memorials from non-inventory stock can take anywhere between 3-6 months.

How much does a monument cost?
We try to be as up front with our prices as possible. The cost of your monument will vary based on size, color and shape. Our monuments start around $600 for a flat marker and they increase in price from there. In addition to the cost of the monument there are possible extra items such as vases or ceramic photos that can be added. If you find a monument in our gallery that you like we will gladly get you a price.

How do I add a death date to an existing monument?
We have a form that must be completed in order to add the final date to an existing monument. This form can be found at the bottom of the home page of our website, you can come in or you can call and we will gladly mail you the form. *Final date inscription is never included in the cost of a monument.

What forms of payments do you accept?
We accept check, cash or card payments. The card payments will add an additional 3.5% service fee.

Do you require the monument to be paid for in full before an order can be placed?
We allow our customers to make payments in any increments that they can. Our rule of thumb is that we will not cut into the monument until it is 1/2 way paid for and we do not set the monument until it is paid for in full.

Why would I buy a memorial in advance?
Memorials are to represent the individual… who better to decide how they want to be remembered than you? Decision making in advance is easier than at a time of grief, and it alleviates a great deal of stress from your loved ones. If you purchase a monument in advance we will then go out to add a final date when the time comes.

What type of material should the memorial be made of?
Today, most grave markers are made of one of three materials, granite, marble or bronze. We recommend and use granite because of the options it gives you and its durability.

Who will install my memorial?
At Cline Monument we run our own equipment and normally we install the monuments we build. There are certain cemeteries that only allow their staff to set, and in those cases we would deliver the monument.

Do I need to purchase a memorial even if the body was cremated?
No, marking a grave space is optional. We, of course, recommend it to provide a place for reflection and comfort. It also offers genealogical information for future generations.

How long will the memorial last?
Our granite headstones will endure typical weathering for ages. Please check this link to find out more about granite's durability. http://www.nps.gov/archive/moru/park_history/geology.htm%20

How is the carving and design put on the stone?
We use a sandblasting technique that ensures your monument is engraved smoothly. We are also more than happy to give you a tour of our in-house operation.

If I want a special design, can you do it?
Of course! We are a complete custom manufacturer and can likely fabricate any design you would like.

Do all cemeteries allow the same type of memorial?
No, marker regulations vary from cemetery to cemetery, and in some cases vary inside the same cemetery from section to section or even lot to lot. It is always best to check with your cemetery to be sure you purchase something that conforms to your cemetery's restrictions.
